Megan holds an Instructional II Professional Certificate in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for teaching English, grades seven through twelve.
All three of Megan's required clearances - Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check, and Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) - are current.
The Teach Me Tutoring Co., LLC was founded by Megan Lilaine Kuffa in the summer of 2026. A native of West Pittston, PA, Megan graduated from Wyoming Area Secondary Center with honors in 1997. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, graduating cum laude, from Flagler College, St. Augustine, Florida, in 2001. In 2009, Megan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Scranton with a Master of Science degree in secondary education and a concentration in English. She received a commendation from the Educational Testing Service for earning a score of 199/200 on the English PRAXIS (teacher licensing) exam.
From 2009 through 2022, Megan taught in the Language Arts Department of the Lake-Lehman Junior Senior High School. While there, she earned 30 additional graduate credits, mainly in the field of positive psychology, maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Throughout her tenure at LL, Megan taught seventeen courses covering grades 7 through 12. The topics of these classes ranged from Shakespeare to grammar, organizational skills to character development, research writing to critical reading, mythology to American literature. During that time, Megan created the elective Page Turners’ Book Club, a beloved but short-lived course for both she and many former students.
Between 2021 and 2022, Megan also taught both online and in person at Lackawanna College, serving as an adjunct instructor for 100 and 300 level writing courses. In 2022, Megan left public education, taking early retirement, but returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher in the Dallas School District during the 2025-2026 school year. She has also tutored clients privately, by request only, for over fifteen years.
As a proud former member of the Kiwanis family of clubs, Megan has over three decades of experience in community service, leadership development, fundraising, and event planning. Key Club involvement in high school was followed by membership in Kiwanis, then advising Key Club and later Builders Club. Megan was a charter member and officer of both the Kingston and Back Mountain Kiwanis Clubs, a member and officer of the Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club, and served in multiple leadership positions at the club, division, region, and district (state) levels. In 2017, Megan was awarded the Key of Honor by the PA District of Key Club International, recognizing her contributions to the organization and its high-school aged members in her role as an advisor.
Megan married her husband, Orell Gaynor III, the love of her life, in November of 2022. Since their wedding, Orell and Megan have stayed quite busy, renovating two homes and selling one, changing jobs and careers, undergoing two IVF cycles - sadly unsuccessful - and presently, tending their zoo of two dogs and four cats. Orell is currently the Director of Technology for the Dallas School District, and is also the Chief Technology Officer for The Teach Me Tutoring Co., an unpaid yet much appreciated voluntold position.
The couple love traveling together, especially road trips, which have included Branson, MO; St. Augustine & Orlando, FL; Savannah, GA; Charleston, SC; Myrtle Beach, SC; Williamsburg, VA, and Long Beach Island, NJ. New York City is a favorite trip they make annually, with at least one Broadway show a must each time. Orell experienced his first Disney World visit in 2022 with Megan and her parents, during the park’s 50th Anniversary. Megan and Orell honeymooned in Las Vegas, and just this past winter, visited Anaheim, CA and Disneyland during that park’s 70th Anniversary, as well as toured many of the highlights of Los Angeles and Orange County. In June, they once again traveled the East Coast to visit their favorite locales and to spend a day at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, specifically to visit Super Nintendo World.
When not traveling, Megan is most often found in her kitchen, preparing innovative meals and baking up delectable treats, or amongst her plants, both indoors as well as in her garden and greenhouse. Her other interests include reading, writing, design, dreaming, opposing racism, and resisting fascism.
Megan was recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder level 1 and is learning through therapy that her neurodivergence is a gift. The Teach Me Tutoring Co., LLC is committed to providing an autism-affirming environment for its clients.
Learning is a lifelong process; every experience can teach us a lesson if we remain open to the possibility that there is always more to learn and that we are never done growing.
Communication is the most essential ingredient for effective and fulfilling human connection, so reading, writing, and speaking skills must be encouraged and fostered in children, as well as throughout adulthood.
Others have said it even better:
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela
"The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you." - B.B. King
"The ability to read, write, and analyze; the confidence to stand up and demand justice and equality; the qualifications and connections to get your foot in that door and take your seat at that table -- all of that starts with education." - Michelle Obama
